Specialists in Housing Disrepair Claims

We are a claims management company that can help…

Do you live in rented accommodation where your landlord is a council or housing association member?  At Help Tenants we can help you get your property fixed.

The first step is to notify your landlord of the disrepair issues, and we can help advise you how to do this.

We can help assist with the below issues:

  • Damp
  • Leaks
  • Guttering and roof issues
  • Gas and electrical issues
  • Infestation (rats, mice etc.)

We understand that living in a home in a poor state of disrepair can be distressing, that is why our team is on hand to help.

You do not need to use a claims management company to make your complaint about your property.  You can make claim yourself for free against your landlord or your housing association.  If it is not successful you can refer it to the Housing Ombudsman Service yourself for free.

Help Tenants receive payments from third parties to whom it passes clients.

How Do I Get Started?

1. Call us on 01564 432067
Speak to our team who can check if you are eligable to start a claim.

2. Photo or Home Survey Assessment
A free home/photo survey will be carried out to assess the potential value of your claim.

4. Sit Back & Relax
If your assessment is succesful, a solicitor will work for you to progress your claim

Will I have to pay any fee if I lose my case?
No.  You will not have to a pay solicitor fee provided you have given truthful and honest answers regarding the details of your claim.  You must also remain cooperative and responsive throughout.

Will I have to pay any fee if I cancel my claim?
Yes.  You will be required to pay a solicitor fee and disbursement if you decided to withdraw your claim before its conclusion.  This fee will only be charged if you cancel after 14 days of signing an agreement with the solicitor.  This fee will reflect work undertaken on your case only.

Do I have to use a CMC (claims management company) to make my claim?
No. You can make a claim yourself, without using the services of a CMC (claims management service), and without paying a fee. If you choose to use our services, after signing the CFA (conditional fee agreement) there is a 14 day “cooling off” period during which the client may cancel at no cost. After these 14 days, any cancellation may incur legal fees, this is something that your panel solicitor would be able to advise you on.

If your claim is successful, we will be paid a percentage of the legal costs received by the solicitor whom we refer your case to.
